New Bluelon iQueue Server 2.8 Provides Cost-Effective Non-Intrusive Queue Management of Passenger or Object Tracking For Optimization of Dispatch Command Center Management.

Bluelon's Bluetooth™, LAN/WAN/LON and ASP .NET enabled second generation iQueue Server v2.8 enables Bluelon’s integrators and distributors to offer locally or remotely hosted system services, which provide dispatch command center management with vital object movement data at e.g. Airports, thus enabling a new level of real-time situation-awareness and decision making that until today was virtually impossible.

(Copenhagen, Denmark – May 12, 2009) – Bluelon today announced its new iQueue Bluetooth™, LAN/WAN/LON Server 2.8 which provides cost-effective passenger or object handling for optimization of real-time object flow management. The iQueue Server enables existing and future customers to monitor and configure, literally hundreds of locally or remotely located BlueTrack® monitoring devices, such as the BlueTrack BT-100. The iQueue Server v2.8 additionally allows integrating with enterprise resource planning (ERP), scheduling and dispatch, messaging and alerting, life-cycle management, security optimization applications, HMI’s, and other critical applications for e.g. airport dispatch command center management. The result is an unprecedented ability to optionally integrate queue-tracking data into business intelligence and process applications, without having to use complex and expensive custom software applications.

This announcement represents an important step forward in the continuing evolution of the Bluelon networked Bluetooth™ platform, which provides the most advanced and complete Bluetooth™ based networked infrastructure for dispatch management.

The iQueue Server v2.8 queue monitoring system is an interactive web enabled server application for installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining networked Bluetooth™ enabled tracking devices. The iQueue Server v2.8 application combines a powerful LAN/WAN/LON client-server architecture with an easy-to-use user interface based on the latest Echelon LNS 3.2 network management software, Microsoft- .NET 3.5, ASP.NET 2.0 and SQL Server 2008 technology. The result is a secure and sophisticated server application enabling dispatch managers, to monitor and control networks of Bluelon BlueTrack® based devices either locally or remotely from virtually any browser in the world. The iQueue Server v2.8 is compatible with common networking protocols including TCP, PPP, NAT, DHCP, DNS, MD5, HTTP and HTTPS allowing the iQueue Server to be hosted as locally or remotely managed servers serving iQueue Server services through existing IP networks to the command center.

Remotely located iQueue Server farms can be part of a centrally managed corporate solution or offered by Bluelon Value Added Reseller (VAR) integrators as a value added service to the system owner.

The result is a sophisticated, yet flexible, server solution enabling logistical managers or technicians, at for example Airport dispatch command centers or where ever active queue management is needed, to get a new unprecedented level of real-time information.

The iQueue Server provides users with a high-level view of critical, real-time information to increase the efficiency of e.g. airport, airline operations or train stations etc. Users can view key performance measures and local queue information around e.g. airports, such as activity through passport control, luggage scanning area, gates or at selected entry or exit point of interest including gate or terminal transfer times.

The system gathers its statistical real-time passenger queue information by tracking random passengers, which has their Bluetooth™ devices enabled. Tests have shown that typically ~12% of passengers has Bluetooth™ devices responding to the Bluelon Bluetooth™ enabled iQueue monitoring devices. The current manual or semi-manual data collection methods often produce very limited statistical data quantity and test frequency. Additionally, the data is typically not available until hours after it has been collected. This makes the new automatically collected iQueue real-time data far superior and preferred.

Leveraging the power of its industry-accepted second generation Bluetooth™ based networked infrastructure platform, Bluelon's suite of facility automation products enables users to more efficiently manage and measure high volume passage areas such as in land or airside operations. iQueue Server enables users to quickly assess key performance measures and ground operations real-time data such as passport queue delays or virtual any other movement statistic data. The system can optionally provide users with real-time situational awareness of the location and status of vehicles, as well as of taxiing aircrafts, which have been equipped with the Bluelon Bluetooth™ Tag. iQueue Server additionally enables users to playback operational events for identification of throughput capacity and/or bottlenecks, explanations for particular delay times and occupancy times, and to gain a comprehensive understanding of the overall effectiveness of the operation. The scaleable, secure and browser based architecture of the iQueue platform enables Bluelon to customize the respective products such that information can be presented in the most meaningful form to the individual user groups. With the power to access and share operational information, users can enhance coordination with Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) and optimize Gate-to-Gate management of airline and airport resources, resulting in tangible benefits to the overall operation.

iQueue Server provides the capability to oversee operations in real-time for improved situational awareness and informed, cost-saving decisions. The iQueue Server can feed its data into various systems (e.g., airport surveillance systems) for displays of the information on a detailed map of the airports surface using e.g. the Google Earth client application or for example in form of the iQueue Server SOAP based and web services enabled Microsoft Excel client. With the ability to monitor queue progress, users can predict future milestones (e.g., departure-time, expiration of crew duty times and elapsed time from entering land-side/air-side queue entry to completion of identification check), identify problems and modify plans to accommodate the changing situation. Further, with more accurate information regarding the cause of delays, users can increase the accuracy of delay code assignment and improve post-operational analysis aimed at justifying automation or process improvements.

iQueue Server enables post-operation investigation, analysis and reporting. It features an intuitive point and click interface that allows users to select and filter data using standard terminology, dynamically configuring specific queries. The system can be customized to generate event times, metrics or lists of events meeting or exceeding established criterias. Using the playback function, the actual route of the passenger or vehicles, as well as operational events that may have impacted the route and/or travel time, can be reviewed and evaluated such that teams are aware of what actually transpired, as compared to original expectations.
