Application Engineer (Copenhagen, Denmark)

The Bluelon Field Engineer is the technical expert on the installation, implementation and integration of Bluelon Wireless access control and location solutions. The Field Engineer is responsible for successfully deploying and supporting Bluelon solutions at customers' sites beginning with pilots or proof of concepts through all phases of deployment to post-installation technical support.
Based in Copenhagen, Denmark
Travel: ~25-50% - primarily EU & US locations
Summary
The Application Engineer will be responsible for developing product specific applications and serving as a technical support representative helping customers solve technical issues as they develop OEM products with LonWorks® technology.
General duties include:  | Answer telephone "hot line" and written or Internet-based inquiries from customers regarding company products
|  | Provide technical support to other application engineers, technicians and product support personnel who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging complex network systems and/or software
|  | Analyze problems with nonfunctioning equipment or software applications to identify problem area(s) and recommend corrective action
|  | Recommend solutions to customer application questions
|  | Maintain database log of problems so that recurring problems can be reported to product development
|  | Direct interaction with customers during product installations and on/off-site training
|  | Assist engineering with product documentation
|  | Troubleshooting and providing technical support on PCB level hardware products Design review – hardware, software and network architecture |
Qualifications
Technical Skills:  | B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Information Systems/ Computer Science
|  | 1-4 years of hands–on experience as a Support/Field/Sales Engineer
|  | Customer Support experience is mandatory
|  | Experience in enterprise software configuration
|  | Experience in systems installations on customer site
|  | Experience in IP networks, routers configurations, networking architecture and protocols such as TCP/IP
|  | Servers (in general), databases (in general), firewalls, NAT, security servers and protocols
|  | Strong technical and troubleshooting skills in several applications and technologies.
|  | Knowledge in access control & location systems/Wireless LAN is a plus
|  | Programming experience – Visual C#, C/C++, VBA, Java
|  | Candidates with industry experience in embedded controller design and programming and/or building automation will be highly favored. |

Language Ability: Must be able to read and interpret technical documents such as: electronic diagrams, network diagrams, source code, etc. Must be able to clearly communicate in written form. Must be capable of writing routine reports and correspondence. Good communication and presentation skills and the ability to work with minimal direction are also required.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, support tracking software
